Publishing Poetry using MS Word
Students will need to think creatively to develop the phrases for the acrostic poem in addition to creating a nice looking final letter. Students will need to change the font style and size all of their writing so that it fills up the page without going onto a second page. New York State Elevation Map

New York elevation map, Courtesy of Maps.com.

This elevation map of New York illustrates the number of feet or meters the state rises above sea level. As you can see, much of New York resides at more than 500 feet above sea level. From sea level, at the Atlantic Ocean and Long Island Sound, the land rises in the Appalachian and Adirondack Mountains. Lower elevations prevail along the Hudson, the Mohawk, and the St. Lawrence Rivers, Lake Ontario, and Long Island Sound.

The highest point in the state is Mount Marcy in the Macintyre Range of the Adirondack Mountains in northern New York. It rises 5,344 feet above sea level. Mount Marcy is located in the town of Keene in Essex County.
